Sunday 11th June the North Coast Truck Drivers Inc. Charity Golf game to be
held at Casino Golf Club had to be cancelled due to the very wet weather
which of course was a big disappointment to us all. Unfortunately we can’t
do anything about the weather.
Due to the constant rain we have had over the past 2 weeks and the course being closed for the major part of this time. The course was finally opened to the ladies Wednesday 21st who wanted to walk. THEN at the last minute after further inspection the course was open to carts as well; with strict instructions as to where carts could go, because the course was still very wet in lots of places, and mowers could not get on the fairways to mow. AND the same conditions will apply on Friday.

Balls went to 32 on a c/b.
Womens Golf Casino Beef Roundup Open Day on Friday 19th May.
Andrew Daddo says “How Good is Golf “; and this has to be true, when we can bring a feeling of England to the competition with the weather producing a foggy; misty, hazy day for the best part of the morning, until around 12.30 to 1 p.m., then the rain came down a little heavier just as the girls were finishing their final hole of the competition.

There weather looked a little ominous on Wednesday 10th May and so the field went from 32 to 27. The weather maps also said there was a 30% chance of rain, so the players who came did go out and play for the Global Tyre & Mechanical Trophies. The 30% chance of rain became 100% at around the 10.30 a.m. mark, so there were players who pulled out at the last minute.
Wednesday 3th May, there was a field of 37 and the rain threatened again. We must thank the Rappville Ladies (Helen, Reinie & Joan) who sponsored the day. It was also our Monthly Medal Round, along with other monthly events and cumulative competitions held throughout the year. A Grade winner Linda Dean (15) finished with 75 Nett from Anne Mead (20) on 77.

It was great to have Julie Llewellyn; a representative of the company come and play with the ladies and help present the vouchers for the day. Julie (also one of our weekend golfers) gave some information on the Richmond Dairies business. Richmond Dairies not only supplies their waste water to our dams for our fairways, they also donate a lot back to the community of Casino, and they are always affected by the problems that affect our dairy farmers.

The flags don’t get put out until after 7.00 a.m., so if you start before 7.00 a.m. you may be hitting to a green that doesn’t have a flag on it, and the hole placement may also change.
