Wednesday 25th October and all donations have been made to the respective local charities as the Outgoing Committee finalises their year of a job well done as well as a great golfing year. Rebecca from “Our Kids” came to the club after the golf game to accept the donation made to “Our Kids” based in Lismore near the Base Hospital; to talk with the Ladies to let them know about the job they do and what the money will be spent on. They do a wonderful job for the kids and families who need the support and somewhere to stay during treatment.

The ladies at Casino Golf Club played for the Sue Leeson & Ivy Robson Trophy on this day, it was a 4 Person Ambrose and there were 32 players in the field. It was a perfect day for golf, the fairways and the greens looked a treat after the rain we have had. Winners were L-R in photo Janet Halliday, Jean Ellis, Nora Viel & Linda Dean who had a handicap of 10.38 to finish with 63.62 nett from Runner Ups L-R in photo Neita Johnson Debbie Low Maree Nowland & Johneen Pluis who had a handicap of 18.13 to finish with 63.87 nett 2nd Runner Ups were L-R in Photo Therese Schier Linda Porter Maree Nowland & Helen Olive who had a handicap of 14.88 & 64.12 nett. There are 35 balls in the Eagles Nest which was not won.
Next Wednesday’s event is a “Mexican Best Ball”, sounds interesting doesn’t it. Both players of the team tee off, they chose the best tee shot and move the other players ball to this spot, counting 1 shot each, they then continue on to finish the hole and record their Stableford results. It is now the time of the year where the major events are over and a time to have some fun while the committee finalises everything in readiness for the Annual Presentation Dinner.
Congratulations to the Incoming Committee, some new, some re-furbished and some continuing – President Nora Viel, Vice President Loretta Transton, Captain Linda Dean, Vice Captain Judith Karam, Secretary Kay Wood, Treasurer Lorraine Pratt, Committee Betty Quinn, Dorothy Willis and Vonnie Micallef. Welcome; may the 2018 year be full of great things and go well for you.
